My Recruitment Pal Ltd ("we", "us") is a specialist legal recruitment consultancy. We take the confidentiality of the people we represent seriously, and that extends to how we handle personal data. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what your rights are.

Who we are

My Recruitment Pal Ltd is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy, and is registered with the Information Commissioner's Office as a data controller, registration reference ZB498813.

Registered in England and Wales, company number 12173568. Registered office: International House, 14 King Street, Leeds, LS1 2HL, United Kingdom.

Contact for anything relating to your data: Sanjay Gondalia, sanjay@myrecruitmentpal.com, 07720 885117.

The data we hold

If you are a candidate, or someone we believe may be interested in opportunities we handle, we may hold:

  • Identity and contact details (name, email address, phone number, location).
  • Career information (CV, employment history, qualifications, practice area, seniority, notice period, salary expectations).
  • Information you share with us in conversations about your circumstances and preferences.
  • Publicly available professional information, for example from LinkedIn or law firm websites.

If you are a client contact at a firm, we hold your business contact details and records of our correspondence and terms.

We do not ask for, and ask that you do not send us, special category data (such as health information) unless it is directly relevant to a role and you choose to share it.

Where the data comes from

Most of the data we hold comes directly from you, from our conversations, or from publicly available professional sources such as LinkedIn. Some candidates are referred to us by others in our network.

Why we hold it, and the legal basis

  • To represent you for specific opportunities. We only submit your details to a firm with your prior and express consent, on each occasion. Legal basis: consent.
  • To keep in touch about opportunities that may suit you. As a specialist consultancy, our value lies in knowing the market and the people in it over the long term. Legal basis: legitimate interests.
  • To provide services to client firms. Legal basis: performance of a contract, and legitimate interests.
  • To meet legal obligations, including record keeping requirements under the Conduct of Employment Agencies and Employment Businesses Regulations 2003. Legal basis: legal obligation.

You can withdraw consent, or object to us holding your details, at any time by emailing sanjay@myrecruitmentpal.com. We will act on it promptly.

Who we share it with

Your details are only ever shared with a prospective employer with your prior and express consent, and only for the specific role discussed. We do not sell data, share it with marketing companies, or circulate CVs speculatively.

We use a small number of service providers to run the business (for example secure database hosting and email). They process data on our instructions and are bound by appropriate agreements. Where a provider stores data outside the UK, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place.

How long we keep it

We keep candidate records for as long as there is a genuine prospect of representing you, and we review records periodically. If you ask us to delete your details, we will do so, subject to any records we are legally required to retain (certain placement records must be kept for at least one year under the 2003 Regulations, and financial records for six years).

Your rights

You have the right to access the data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to our processing, and to data portability. To exercise any of these, email sanjay@myrecruitmentpal.com. We will respond within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We would appreciate the chance to resolve any concern directly first.

Cookies

This website does not use analytics or tracking cookies. Our pages load fonts from Google Fonts and one script library from the jsDelivr content delivery network. Your browser fetches those files directly from the provider, which sees your IP address as part of the request. Neither request sets cookies on this site. If any of that changes, this policy will be updated first.

Changes to this policy

We will post any changes on this page with a revised date.
