An opportunity for an ambitious construction Associate with 3+ years PQE in contentious construction to join a large, highly regarded construction department ranked Tier 4 by Legal 500. The team handles complex construction disputes for registered providers of social housing, G15 housing associations, and private sector clients, including precedent-setting cases and Building Safety Act matters.

What you'll
be doing.

Day-to-day file management and advising on all aspects of construction contracts including payments, extensions of time, loss and expense, defects, procurement and insurance issues. Acting on dispute resolution including adjudication, arbitration and mediation; drafting submissions and witness statements for proceedings; managing Technology & Construction Court proceedings; drafting tailored advice for different client types; liaising directly with clients; preparing and delivering seminars; proactively developing client relationships; and maintaining accurate files in compliance with department procedures and Solicitors' accounts rules.

looking for.

Minimum 3 years PQE in contentious construction (non-contentious experience preferable but not essential). Strong academic background with at least 2:1 degree. Thorough understanding of the Housing Grants, Construction & Regeneration Act 1996, the Scheme for Construction Contracts (England & Wales) Regulations 1998 and Civil Procedure Rules. Proven experience of adjudications, mediations and court proceedings, and running own files. Proactive, self-motivated, commercially aware, excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong attention to detail, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
