A leading construction and engineering firm is seeking an experienced Contentious Construction Lawyer to join their London team. This role offers the opportunity to work on a varied portfolio of matters, combining project advisory work for live projects with formal dispute resolution including adjudication, High Court litigation, arbitration and mediation. You will develop client relationships and play a central role in expanding one of the City's premier specialist Construction & Engineering teams.

What you'll
be doing

Advise on both project advisory work to live projects and formal disputes resolution (adjudication, High Court litigation, arbitration and mediation). Manage document review and heavy document management across matters. Supervise and mentor trainee solicitors and paralegals. Work closely with non-contentious, Transactional Real Estate and Projects colleagues. Assist in pitching for work, training and managing client relationships. Prepare witness evidence and expert evidence. Engage with internal and external stakeholders at all levels and maintain efficient diary and task management.
Candidate profile

Who we're
looking for

You must have at least 3+ years' PQE in contentious construction and engineering experience covering both project advisory work and formal dispute resolution. You should have demonstrable knowledge of construction and engineering projects, contractual and tortious rights and obligations across the supply chain, and experience of typical dispute issues including delay, extensions of time, liquidated damages, additional costs and defects. Experience of adjudication and High Court litigation procedure is essential. You should be experienced in heavy document management and review, and confident in stakeholder management at all levels. Experience of arbitration, mediation and trial bundle platforms would be beneficial. You must be inquisitive, organised and focused on understanding clients' drivers and delivering high-quality, impactful advice.
