Day to day

What you'll
be doing.

Responsibility for day-to-day file management and running own cases; advising on all aspects of construction contracts including payments, extensions of time, loss and expense, defects and insurance issues; acting on adjudications, arbitrations, mediations and Technology & Construction Court proceedings; drafting submissions, witness statements and tailored advice for different client types; liaising directly with clients; supervising and delegating to junior team members; preparing seminars and contributing to department publications; and proactively developing client relationships and business development.
Candidate profile

Who we're
looking for.

Minimum 5 years' PQE in contentious construction law (non-contentious experience preferable but not essential); strong academic background with at least a 2:1 degree; thorough understanding of the Housing Grants, Construction & Regeneration Act 1996, the Scheme for Construction Contracts Regulations 1998 and Civil Procedure Rules; experience of adjudications, mediations and court proceedings; experience running own files and supervising junior staff; proactive, independent and able to exercise judgment with minimal supervision; excellent written and verbal communication skills; commercially aware with ability to identify key issues and convey clear advice; meticulous attention to detail; flexible approach to meet client deadlines; and a collaborative, collegiate approach.
